Learn It

Try It

Dance It

At the Buckeye Dance Festival, we don’t want you to spend the entire weekend sitting on the sidelines watching other people dance.

We want you on the floor.

The social experience is a huge part of what Buckeye is all about.

Take a workshop. Learn something new. Meet some people.

Then go dance it.

Throughout the festival, we’re creating multiple social dance environments so you don’t have to choose just one dance community for the weekend.

Something To Dance — All The Time

One of the things that makes Buckeye different is the variety.

Throughout the festival, our goal is to have dedicated social dancing available for our three major dance communities:

WEST COAST SWING

A dedicated place to anchor, stretch, play, connect and get your West Coast Swing fix.

Take a workshop during the day and bring what you learned straight to the social floor.

COUNTRY

Two-Step. Country Swing. Night Club Two-Step. Waltz. Cha-Cha. Triple Two. East Coast Swing. Polka. Line dancing and more.

Whether you’re a competitive Country dancer, a bar dancer, a social dancer or someone who just learned your first Two-Step that afternoon — come dance.

BALLROOM

Waltz. Tango. Foxtrot. Viennese Waltz. Cha-Cha. Rumba. Swing. Bolero. Mambo and more.

Ballroom isn’t just something to watch at Buckeye.

It’s something to experience.

THEN THERE’S EVERYTHING ELSE…

This is where things get really fun.

Alongside West Coast Swing, Country and Ballroom, look for rotating specialty social experiences throughout the weekend.

Depending on the session and evening, you may find opportunities for:

Salsa • Bachata • Kizomba • Line Dancing • Latin Social Dancing • Country Swing • Specialty Dance Sessions • And More

Some specialty communities may have their own dedicated social times, while others will be mixed into themed parties and experiences throughout the weekend.

The schedule will give you plenty of reasons to wander into another room.

YOU ARE ALLOWED TO BE NEW HERE.

Never danced West Coast Swing?

Walk in.

Never tried Country?

Come on.

Don’t know the difference between Salsa, Bachata and Kizomba?

Perfect.

Take a workshop and then stick around for the social.

One of the biggest barriers to trying a new style of dance is simply walking into a room where it feels like everybody else already knows what they’re doing.

We want Buckeye to help remove that barrier.

This is a festival built around trying.

You don’t have to be good at it.

You don’t have to know all the rules.

You don’t have to already belong to that particular dance community.

You just have to be willing to give it a shot.

Take the workshop.  Then take the floor!

This is where our four pillars come together:

EDUCATION → PRACTICE → INTERACTION → COMPETITION

Learn a dance in a workshop.

Practice it while it’s still fresh.

Meet dancers who already love that style.

Ask somebody to dance.

Make some mistakes.

Laugh.

Try again.

And maybe, by the end of the weekend, you’re dancing something you had never even heard of before you arrived.

That’s a successful Buckeye weekend.

One Festival.

Multiple Dance Communities!

Most dance weekends ask you to choose.

What kind of dancer are you?

At Buckeye, we’d rather ask:

What do you want to dance next?

Go dance West Coast Swing.

Head over for a Country Two-Step.

Catch a Ballroom Waltz.

Jump into a line dance.

Find the Latin room.

Try some Bachata.

Experience Kizomba.

Then circle back and do your favorite all over again.

You aren’t locked into one room, one community or one identity as a dancer.

Explore the festival.

COME FOR YOUR FAVORITE.
DISCOVER YOUR NEXT ONE.

Maybe you come to Buckeye because you’re a West Coast Swing dancer.

Maybe Country is your world.

Maybe Ballroom is home.

That’s great.

We’ll have a floor waiting for you.

But while you’re here, walk into another room.

Take the workshop.

Ask someone to dance.

Try something that feels completely outside your comfort zone.

Because the Buckeye Dance Festival isn’t only about celebrating the dance you already love.

It’s about giving you the opportunity to discover another one.

Four Days. Multiple Floors. Countless Connections.

Come learn. Come dance. Come connect. Come try something new.
